There has not been one day that I didn’t want to go to work even with daily challenges…and there are always challenges to overcome.

CopyRight Printing Systems

1992-present

CopyRight continues to provide opportunities to hone and add new skills.

I’ve trained hundreds of employees. Since every person learns differently, finding the right teaching method for each individual is an important aspect of training.

Every week I get to be someone’s ‘hero’ by providing a much needed service, delivering a long awaited parcel, or be a listening ear and offering a hug. Some of my best customers have become my best friends.

Shop EveryTown, Inc.

2022-Present

I am passionate about helping my fellow small business owners. After spending a decade+ working to promote economic development in my business district, I believed there was a technological solution. My team and I are proud of the results.

The Shop EveryTown app is a platform that rewards shoppers for shopping local - - an easy to use search feature helps small businesses to be found, earn points, and enroll in challenges.

Free to shoppers and small businesses.

This app helps to even the playing field with mega franchises!

Community organizations

The benefits to community volunteering are many. Helping others, meeting new people, making new friends, and learning new things. Below is a partial list of organizations for which I volunteered.

Community Film Studio Santa Barbara

In 2011 - I joined the board as secretary for the not-for-profit organization, Community Film Studio Santa Barbara (CFSSB). Volunteering with others who also have a passion for film, is a wonderful experience for me with my double major in Film Studies and Political Science.

CFSSB's mission is to empower filmmakers and provide mentoring for community members in the media arts. The Bet is an award-winning feature film produced by the studio with an all volunteer cast and crew.

The studio currently has projects in production and in development.

I currently serve as president. In 2017, the studio launched an ambitious production, Salsipuedes Street with that I served as Producer. Read about Salsipuedes Street.

Goleta Old Town Community Association

Native Daughters of the Golden West

In 2007 - After relocating my residence and business to Goleta Old Town, I recruited help from fellow business owners and community members to form a team to fulfill a mission of community building and revitalization. In January 2017 the group formalized as Goleta Old Town Community Association (GOTCA), a registered 501 c 3 non-profit organization.

GOTCA promoted economic development and community building events throughout the year: Concerts at the Gazebo; Merchant's Halloween Candy Crawl & Games; Christmas Parade; Taste & Sounds of Old Town; Summer Games & Movies, Discover Old Town Market Branding, Elves of the Cheerful Message, Love Your City, Envisioning, and community forums.

I served as Executive Director before retiring in 2019. Under my leadership, GOTCA received several awards: National Neighborhood of the Year for Social Revitalization ‘Santa Comes to Old Town’ (2018), Physical Revitalization ‘Love Your City’ (2019), Finalist Multi-Neighborhood Partnership ‘Summer Games & Movies’ (2019) and Social Revitalization ‘Taste & Sounds of Old Town’ (2019).

Reina del Mar Parlor No. 126 of the Native Daughters of the Golden West is a fraternal organization of California-born women. For over 10 years, I was heavily involved holding a variety of offices including two terms as president. In 2006, I was selected to portray Saint Barbara, a privilege reserved exclusively for Reina del Mar members in appreciation for their active support in establishing Fiesta.

While an active member, I authored several state initiatives, some of which were approved and enacted.

I am a member in good standing.
